Yesterday it was officially announced that I have been appointed a position in the Executive Committee of the Wollondilly Women In Business Network to look after all aspects of Social Media & Marketing. I’m so honoured to be given this opportunity and I’m really excited about guiding their initiatives and ensuring their vision is implemented through their marketing communications!
Running your own business can be a tough journey and it is often the support of other like-minded individuals (i.e. fellow business owners) as well as family and friends that help you conquer the goals you set out to achieve. Networking is a huge, and I believe, important part of running a business which is why I decided to join the #wwibnetwork - and I’m so glad I did. I’ve met some wonderful and inspiring women and now I’m even lucky enough to share my passion of all things marketing with them.
Not only is networking important for running a business but it is imperative for small business owners and sole traders. While many small businesses and sole traders don't always have the budget for marketing, networking is an inexpensive way to grow your database whether it be for mutually beneficial partnerships or potential clients. You're essentially getting your personal brand out there along with your business brand and let's face it sometimes it is easier to gain business face-to-face.
Finally, networking is a great way to help boost your confidence. Not everyone is great at putting themselves out there in the name of business and networking can be quite daunting but the more you engage in it the better your become.
